Biography
Anthonia Bisola Otunla is a distinguished award winning mental healthcare clinician, researcher and consultant specializing in traumatic stress with expertise in neurobiology, neuropsychology, traumatic stress and trauma-informed psychotherapy. She cares for individuals and communities navigating life’s challenges, particularly the emotional and psychological toll of trauma.
A Certified Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) and Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) Practitioner, Anthonia creates safe spaces for individuals to share their stories, process emotions, and develop coping strategies. Her specialized knowledge in trauma and conflict resolution enables her to address complex emotional and psychological needs, offering pathways to healing and resilience.
Anthonia is a graduate of College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria. She holds Postgraduate degrees in public health and rehabilitation, a professional certification in Traumatic Stress Studies and an Advanced Diploma in Professional Counselling. A Mandela Washington Fellow and Trauma Research Foundation Scholar, she has trained internationally, studying at the University of Keele, UK, Duquesne University, USA and the Trauma Research Foundation, USA.
Anthonia is the Clinical Director of Thrive Metamorphosis Healthcare (Thriving Minds Spaceship) and a renowned Consultant in Trauma with over 18 years of experience in clinical practice, leadership and volunteering. She is a tutor for Advanced Professional Counselling at ADI College of Counselling and Psychotherapy, Lagos. She is passionate about treating acute and chronic post traumatic stress and psychosomatic symptoms arising from childhood trauma using evidence-based practice methods.
She is a member of the International Leadership Association and the Compassionate Warriors Cohort and a Nonviolent Communication Practitioner. Anthonia exemplifies analytical thinking, empathy and servant leadership and her mission is to bring healing and peace through connection, nervous system regulation, trauma healing and empathy.
